Allison Brooks Janney is an American actress who was born on the 19th of November, 1959. Through the years her performance has received appreciation on both screen and stage. Janney has been honored with various awards including one Academy Award and a British Academy Film Award. In addition, she was awarded 7 Primetime Emmy Awards. She also received nominations in Two Tony Awards. Janney was born in Boston, and raised to Dayton (Ohio). Following her graduation from Kenyon College, she received a full scholarship to The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Janney's television debut was in 1999, when she played C. J. Cregg in the NBC's drama The West Wing (from 1999 from 1999 to). She received Four Primetime Emmy Awards for the role. Janney was awarded an award called the Primetime Emmy Award for 2014 Outstanding Guest Actress in an Drama Series for her performance in the role of Margaret Scully on the Showtime series Masters of Sex.
